As a Game of Thrones fan, Croatia has been on my list for a long time and I was so excitied to visit and Croatia exceeded my expectations. Firstly our hotel, Jupiter Hertiage was located right in the Diocletian Palace, which is one of the sites of the show. The hotel room was similar to the Naples hotel, with the the double bed and twin bed. The hotel was very close to many shops and restaurants. One of restuarants we ate at twice was Fig, the owner is from California and was able to combine local food with a west coast twist. Not to mention, the restaurant location gives an historical vibe. On top of visiting some GoT sites as seen below, we did two tours.
Our first tour was to Mostar and Kravice Waterfalls in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was a long day, however it was worth it. We started by stopping in a very small town for a quick Turkish coffee and to visit an old citadel. Then we made our way to Mostar where we had a small tour and then plenty of free time to explore the architecture and have lunch. We were also able to see some crazy kids jump off the bridge into a freezing river.
Our next tour was of the Plitvice Lakes which was incredible. The pictures and videos did not do this place justice. Walking through the path can change at times depending on whether it is safe to walk thru, however whichever way you walk, the views are amazing. This was another long day, just because it takes a while to get to the lakes but again so worth it.
